Bradford vs York

The Bradford Bulls welcome the York Knights from North Yorkshire to West Yorkshire for a fascinating looking match up that should be a great watch.

Both the Bulls and the Knights made the step up to Super League at the same time, but both have had different histories in the Super League.

The Bulls were one of the big hitters of the early years of the new competition and would go onto to enjoy lots of success, both domestically and internationally including becoming the best club side in the world.

That success couldn’t last for ever however and since those days, the club have gone from struggle to struggle and have had to fight for their very existence.

The Knights have achieved that bit and even had to re-group after going bust but now they have the facilities needed to succeed and with them finding themselves in the topflight for the first time, they will be looking to continue their upward trend.

Both clubs will likely see this one as a winnable game, so both will go all out for the win, making it a great watch for fans and neutrals alike.

Stadium

The match takes place at the historic Odsal Stadium, which whilst it maybe one of the easiest stadiums to recognise in the sport, it isn’t all for good reasons.

The stadium is built on top of an all quarry and tip, which means fans actually enter the stadium from the top of the stand and then walk down to where they are watching from.

The bulk of the stadium features a large open to the elements terrace that runs down one side of the field, around the corner and behind one set of sticks.

Down the other side of the pitch, you have a large ‘grandstand’ which is where the only seating is found, with most of it been covered.

The final end is home to the ground hospitality, which is a large complex, where the boxes and restaurant are raised in the air making easier for those in corporate to see the itch, which is far from all of the stands.

With the stadium often been off putting for fans, especially if the weather is set to be not the best, it can often lead to many fans wanting to watch the action live from the comfort, and warm, of their homes.

Thankfully, that is something that has never been easier and no matter if it too sunny or too rainy, you need never miss out on any of the action that unfolds from Odsal again.

Why You Should Watch

If you are a fan of either the Bulls or the Knights, you will want to watch as many matches as you can do but that will be especially true for a local derby such as this one when both sets of fans will be expecting the win.

For those who are also based in Yorkshire, but who support other clubs, you will also likely want to watch the action as it unfolds as you will have an interest in nearby clubs and maybe either of these sides will be your clubs’ rival.

The closeness of these two teams should make this match a great watch for neutral fans of the sport who simply love to sit back, relax and be entertained by the sport.

For those who are new to Rugby League, this is a great match to start with as you have two teams based in the sport heartland, two sides full of quality from across the globe and you have a match that should be in doubt throughout.

Where You Can Watch

If you have been a fan of the sport for any length of time, you will likely know just how frustrating it can be for fans to watch the matches that they want to watch.

In the not too distant past, even those who were lucky enough to have an ongoing and seemingly ever increasingly expensive subscription to a pay tv sports channel that had the rights to be able to broadcast the action live, the chances are that the match up that you were tuning in to watch would not have been selected for live broadcast.

That was for a few different reasons, with the main one been that only a select number of matches from each round would be selected to be shown live but thankfully, things are now different and fans can watch as many matches as they want to watch.

That will likely be a lot for both sets of fans who have spent so long outside of the top flight and away from the cameras, which is always a huge frustration for all fans, especially when you cannot make it to a match in person.
