Watch St Petersburg Ladies Trophy
The St Petersburg Ladies Trophy, formally known as the Ladies Neva Cup, is a professional tennis tournament on the women’s WTA Tour and the great news for all fans of tennis is that you can watch all of the action live online via our WTA St Petersburg live streaming partners.
The tournament has been held ever since 2003 with the tournament now a WTA Premier Tournament ranked event.
The action takes place on indoor hard courts with all of the action coming from the Sibur Arena, home to the Dynamo Tennis Club.
The tournament, which also is known as the NEVA Cup locally features matches played on indoor hard courts inside of the arena that is home to the cities basketball team and that can seat around 6,000 fans for tennis with a capacity of around 7,000 for other sports and events.
The Sibur Arena is located in the Petrogradsky district of St Petersburg, which is to the north west of the city centre and to the north of the city main port, with the arena offering a stunning location next to the Baltic Sea and within easy reach of all parts of the city.
The St Petersburg Ladies Trophy is run as a completely separate tournament to the men’s event, known as the ATP St Petersburg or the St Petersburg Open, and that in many ways is one of the strengths of the event as the full focus is on the WTA Tour and that allows the players to step up and to give us some fantastic tennis.

WTA St Petersburg
The WTA St Petersburg started off with humble beginnings after featuring on the ITF Tour, the secondary women’s tennis tour, for over a decade before making the step up to the WTA level and since joining the main world tour, the tournament has not looked back.
The tournament took over from the Proximus Diamond Games in Belgium and with a new place at the top table, coupled with many more ranking points and a massive increase in the prize fund given to all participants and the tournament has gone from a relatively small event featuring low ranked players and young locals making their way in the game to become a tournament that can now attract the biggest names in the sport.
That level of improvement is even more remarkable as the tournament struggle to even occur in the early years with no edition held in 2007 and between 2009-14.
That makes the St Petersburg Ladies Trophy a must watch event but unfortunately it is also a tournament that can be difficult to watch on British television although you can now watch each and every match from the event live via the tennis live stream services featured on this page.
In the pre-WTA era, the tournament was dominated by Eastern European talent with local favourite Evgenia Linetskaya winning the inaugural event in 2003.
Other winners before the reclassification were Anastasiya Yakimova (Belarus), Ekaterina Bychkova (Russia), Alberta Brianti (Italy), Magdalena Rybarikova (Slovakia) and the last ITF level event in St Petersburg was won by Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia).
The inaugural WTA level event was won by Italian Roberta Vinci (Italy) who defeated Belinda Bencic (Switzerland) in the final.
Other winners of the WTA St Petersburg have included Kristina Mladenovic (France), Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) and Kiki Bertens (The Netherlands) who became the first player to win the title on more than one occasion and also the first to defend her title after winning in both 2019 and 2020.
In 2021, local fans were sent home happy as local favourite Daria Kasatkina defeated fellow Russian Margarita Gasparyan in the final, although the former had to retire due to injury when a set and 2-1 down.
The double event was won by Ukrainian Nadiia Kichenok, alongside her partner Raluca Olaru from Romania, in a result that would take on much more important a year later.
In 2002, the event was won by Anett Kontaveit of Estonia before the event was removed from the tour.
