Watch PSG Live
No matter if you know them as Paris St Germain, Paris Saint-Germain, Paris SG or simply PSG, the French giants from the capital city of Paris are one of the biggest clubs in world football, with one of the most expensively built squads and with one of the world’s most iconic playing kits, it is no surprise that football fans not only in France but across the UK, Europe and the world are wanting to watch PSG live in action.
Unfortunately for fans new to watching French football or for fans who are constantly trying to watch Paris St Germain live, it can be difficult in the UK to find their matches on tv channels.
Thankfully, it has now never been easier to watch live Paris Saints Germain matches online as a number of streaming websites show the majority of their matches live online, so all you need to do is follow the links on this website to watch live via our PSG live stream partners.
The Parisian giants, first established in 1970, quickly rose to the top of the French domestic game but it wasn’t until the investment of the Qatari government that the club went form a top team in France to a top team in Europe and they now can boast some of the best players in the world and they can match anybody in terms of wages and transfer fees.
As with so many clubs in Europe, Paris St Germain are so much more than a football club as they offer a number of sports teams including Esports, Handball and Judo whilst they also used to have a Rugby League team who played in the European Super League.
With so many star players amongst there playing roster and with the increase in quality overall of the French Ligue 1, there has been a growing interest in watching PSG live and no matter where in the world you are watching them from, you will instantly know that it is Paris St Germain playing thanks to the club having one of the most recognisable playing strips in world football.
So many clubs across the European continent and across the globe have very similar playing strips, think Real Madrid and Leeds United for example, but the mainly dark blue with a red central stripe with white stripes on the outside of the red really does make for a kit that stands out.
The club crest is also unique and really does hint to the clubs background with an image of the Eiffel Tower and a Fleur de Lys (a hint to the coat of arms of the Saint-Germain-en-Laye district of Paris) and whilst the crest has changed down the years, the clubs colours and imagery has remained consistent.
Despite been a relatively new club, but one of course with huge finance sand a large fanbase, the club have won all that there is to win in domestic football including multiple Ligue 1 titles, a solidary Ligue 2 title (won early on in their existence as they progressed through the leagues), multiple Coupe de France wins, multiple Trophee des Champions wins and they are one of the few French teams to enjoy continental success with UEFA Cup Winners Cups and UEFA Intertoto Cup wins.

Paris St Germain History
Paris are know one of the biggest football clubs in the world but that certainly has not been the case for much of their history, which isn’t quite as long as you may expect.
Whilst many of the world’s biggest clubs have histories dating back to the 1800’s or early 1900’s, Paris St Germain were only established in 1970 when a group of businessmen decided to create a new and hopefully powerful football club based in the French capital city of Paris.
The decision was made to merge 2 smaller clubs based near to the city with the lower league Paris FC joining Stade Saint-Germain, based in Saint-Germain-en-Laye around 15km’s away from the centre of Paris, to create the now known as PSG.
The club started life in Ligue 2, the countries second division, and after some early crowdfunding helped by Santiago Bernabeu of Real Madrid, the club were helped financially by around 20,000 new fans and that helped them to sign early stars such as Jean Djorkaeff.
That helped Paris to claim the 2nd division title in their first season and to gain promotion to Ligue 1 but things soon unravelled and the club split up, with Paris FC continuing in the top division and PSG been relegated to the French 3rd division.
The club quickly made their way through the ranks once again with back-to-back promotions and ironically in the same period, Paris FC dropped down in the 2nd tier.
Upon their return to the top flight, the club moved to their Parc des Princes home and started to develop into the top club that we all know them as to today.
The 1970’s aw the red and blues establish themselves in Ligue 1 but silverware never quite came their way but they did sign big names such as Jean-Pierre Dogliani, Mustapha Dahleb and Carlos Bianchi.
Further signings under the leadership of Francis Borelli in the 1980’s saw the likes of Joel Bats, Safet Susic, Dominique Bathenay and Dominique Rocheteau brough success to the club with back to back titles in 1982-83.
This period also saw the club announce themselves on the continental stage but it was only a short lived period of success as by the late 1980’s the club were battling it out at the foot of the table once again to avoid relegation, something that they only did on the final day of the season in the 1987-88 camepaign.
The big spending of the club also started to cause issues as PSG were now heavily indebted but that soon changed when in 1991 the club were bough by the media giants Canal+ and that not only wiped out the debts of Paris but also made them one of the richest clubs not only in France but in European football.
This saw the club once again go on a spending spree with the likes of French internationals Paul Le Guen, Vincent Guerin, Bernard Lama, Alain Roche, Daniel Bravo, David Ginola, Youri Djorkaeff and Bruno Ngotty join international stars such as Ricardo, Rai, Leonardo, Marco Simone, Valdo, and George Weah to form one of the strongest club sides ever seen in French football.
This was unsurprisingly known as the clubs first ‘Golden era’ which saw them not only win numerous Lihue 1 titles and French cups but they also enjoyed success on the European stage including winning their first continental title when they won the final of the 1995-96 UEFA Cup Winners Cup.
By the late 1990’s things started to unravel once again as the big spending of Paris saw them struggle financially off of the field and despite big stars such as Ronaldinho and Pauleta enthralling fans on the field, the team started to struggle to match the early Canal+ years, started to drop down the table and to the surprise of no one, the media giants pulled their funding.
The new owners of the club failed to invest and Paris found themselves battling against relegation once again between 2006-08 with the period seeing fan violence become blight on the club.
By 2011, things were on the up once again as the struggling Parisian side were taken over by the Qatar government backed Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) who, with almost unlimited funds, set about making Paris not just the dominant force in French football, something that they achieved with relative ease, but also on the European stage.
World class stars quickly found a home for themselves in the French capital with the likes of Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Angel Di Maria, Edinson Cavani been joined by Kylian Mbappe and Neymar jnr (who the club broke the world transfer records on both to sign) in the red and blue of PSG.
This saw an immediate improvement on the continental stage, including reaching their first ever Champions League final in the 2019-20 season.
The club grabbed headlines around the world in 2021 when they signed Leo Messi, with the iconic Argentine superstar available on a free after leaving Barcelona.
Unfortunately for fans of the club, the signing of Messi didn’t lead to instant success as not only did he struggle on the field during his first season in Paris, but the club as a whole struggled as they exited the Champions league at the knock out stages (against Real Madrid) and they also didn’t pick up a cup win domestically.
Although they did win the Ligue 1 title, that is something that expected in Paris and not something to really celebrate, so it was perhaps not too much of a surprise that head coach Mauricio Pochettino was relieved of his duties come the end of the season.
