Bradford Bulls v Hull Kingston Rovers
The Bradford Bulls welcome Hull Kingston Rovers across the M62 from East Yorkshire to West Yorkshire for what should be an entertaining 80 minutes of Rugby League action.
There have been some fantastic battles between the two sides down the years, but both have also had quite conflicting starts to the summer era of the sport.
Bradford led the way as the Super League era started and with bumper crowds packing out Odsal to watch some of the world’s biggest stars to win some of the biggest titles and trophies on offer, the Bulls were amongst the clubs to dominate those early years.
At the same time, Hull KR were out of the top flight and just about clinging on to simply existing but over the past couple of decades, things have turned around and it has been Bradford who have found themselves struggling to survive outside of the top flight whilst the Robins have won everything there is to win including the becoming the Club World Champions.
With Bradford now on the rise again, they will be looking to challenge themselves against Rovers, with the Robins looking to put a marker down in what should be an interesting and must watch game of Rugby League football.
Stadium
The match takes place at Odsal Stadium, which as anybody knowns who has had the unfortunate experience of visiting there on anything other than a glorious sunny day, is arguably one of the worst professional sprots stadium in the UK.
The vast openness of the stadium, coupled with a lack of cover from the elements for the fans means that any atmosphere that is created is lost.
The pitch is far too small; the fans are to far away from the action thanks to a stock car track that runs around the pitch and even the corners are banked.
It is a stadium that is always easy to recognise come gameday however due to the unique look and feel to it as the stadium sits on a former quarry, and land fill, which means fans actually enter the ground from the top of the stands.
The bulk of the stand is a large, open terrace that runs the full length of one side of the pitch, wraps around the corner, runs down one end and then runs around the other corner.
The other side of the pitch features a large, mostly covered, bank of general access seating whilst the other end of the pitch is home to a raised corporate hospitality box set up.
Why You Should Watch
If you are a fan of either the Bulls or Rovers, you will want to watch as many of their matches as you can do but when it is a Yorkshire derby, you will make sure you are available to tune in as there is always something special about them.
The closeness of these two sides and many other teams form the Rugby League hotbed of Yorkshire means that there will be plenty of fans from other clubs who have an interest in watching their rivals in action and to hopefully see them lose, so if you are a fan of Leeds, Halifax, Hull FC or any other side nearby and want to see the outcome as it unfolds, you will want to watch along live.
It is also a match that will have a big impact on the season for plenty of other clubs, and likely at both ends of the competition, so if this result will impact your favourites, make sure you watch along live to see just what that impact will be as it happens.
Its also a great action for more general fans of the sport, or those who maybe don’t have a favourite club, but who just love to sit back, relax and be entertained by the sport.
Lastly, if you are new to the sport, it’s a great game to start of with, as you have two traditional clubs who are playing for Yorkshire pride.
Where You Can Watch
For those who have been a fan of Rugby League for much of the summer era, you will know all too well just how annoying and frustrating it has been to watch the matches that you have wanted to watch.
Even if you were in the lucky position to have an expensive and ongoing subscription to a pay tv sports network that had the rights to broadcast the match you were wanting to watch live, the chances are that you still wouldn’t be able to do so.
That is especially true for a matchup such as this one that often went under the radar despite the fact that it could easily be a match of the round contender, with only a select number of matches from each round been available to watch.
Thankfully, those days are now long gone, and fans can pick and choose to watch the matches that they want to watch and also choose how they watch them, with each of the services found on this page allowing you to watch live Rugby League action.
All you need to do is choose the service that works the best for you, but don’t forget, you can choose to use as many services as you want to get the widest choice of the Rugby League action you want.
There is also a range of options from all of these services as to how you can watch the action, so there really is something for anybody- so make sure you never miss a match you want to watch live again.
