Hull Kingston Rovers vs York Knights

Hull Kingston Rovers welcome the York Knights from North Yorkshire to East Yorkshire for a fascinating looking match up that should be well worth watching.

The Knights will look at the Robins for inspiration off of the field as they have gone from a club struggling to survive at the start of the summer era, to building the club off of the field, to gaining promotion, to establishing themselves in the top flight before going on to win everything that is on offer both domestically and globally.

They are one of the most forward-looking clubs and they are not resting on those laurels as they continue to improve there facilites and that is something the Knights have also done well with.

They too have also developed the playing side of the club to where they have gained promotion to the top tier but now, they need to take the next steps and not only prove they belong in the Super League but that they are a club pushing for and reaching the play offs.

One way to go around that is to go to the home of one of the top clubs in the sport and come away with the win and whilst Rovers will be the heavy favourites, anything can happen come kick-off.

Stadium

The match will take place at New Craven Park, although most just call it Craven Park nowadays, which is East of the river Hull in the city of Kingston-upon-Hull.

In a divided city when it comes to the sport of Rugby League, the Hull river is the traditional border splitting those who support Hull KR and Hull FC, although both now do garner support from not only across the city but from across the region.

That helps the Robins gain pack out houses for all home games nowadays which always creates a great atmosphere and that will be added to by a decent away following from the nearby located Knights.

The stadium is a mix of the new and the old starting with the newest stand at the ground that is a modern all-seater stadium that runs behind one set of sticks.

Running down one side of the pitch is a large, covered terrace that houses the bulk of the most vocal home fans, whilst the other side of the pitch is home to grounds grandstand that also houses the media facilities and most of the stadium corporate facilites.

The upper tier is covered seating, whilst the bottom tier is known as the well and is a shallow bank of terracing.

The final end of the stadium is home to Craven Streat, where there is entertainment, food and drink served before the match and during half time that really helps gets the atmosphere building and there is also a small temporary seating stand in front of it.

Where You Can Watch

If you have been a fan of Rugby League for any length of time, you will know all to well how difficult and frustrating it has been for far to long for fans to be able to watch the matches that they want to watch.

Even if you were in the fortunate enough position to be have an ongoing and seemingly ever increasingly expensive subscription to a pay tv sports channel that had the rights to broadcast the matches that you wanted to watch, the chances would have been that you would not have been able to watch the match.

There were a few different reasons why that was the case, but the main one was that only a select number of matches from every round of action were ever selected to be broadcast live, so the chances were that the match featuring your favourite club would not get selected.

Thankfully, it is now easier than ever for fans to be able to pick and choose to watch the matches that they want to watch, in the way that they want to watch, and that is by using the service featured on this page.
