Watch Sakhir Grand Prix

The Bahrain GP was the first Formula 1 race to take place in the Middle East after been first run in 2004. Since that first race, the decision to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix in a country with such a poor human rights record was controversial and things have intensified since then.

Unfortunately with many of the drivers and team members wanting to be anywhere other than Bahrain and with the on track action often lacking, the race isn’t popular for fans but that doesn’t mean that if you want to watch the action, it isn’t available to watch.

The race takes place at the Bahrain International Circuit, in the Bahrain city of Sakhir hasn’t proven to be popular with drivers and fans alike as the mostly featureless track is defined by the huge run off areas which means that whilst Sakhir is often thought of as the safest track, it also leads to a lack of difficulty for drivers and in turn it lacks any racing action.

What Can We Watch?

You can watch all of the key action from each and every race weekend including all 3 practise sessions, qualifying and of course the actual race itself live.

Bahrain Grand Prix

The Bahrain Grand Prix has been on the Formula 1 calendar since 2004, where aside from a cancelled race in 2011, the GP has been raced every year.

Normally run towards the beginning of the season, the Bahrain GP actually opened the season back in 2006 but that honour quickly switched back to Australia.

The track can prove difficult when the wind picks up as it blows a dust like sand on the surface which can lead to problems with grip and graining for the drivers. The surface of the track is actually built from greywacke aggregate which was quarried in Shropshire and is known as been one of the better surfaces on the calendar.
