ATP Chengdu Open

The Chengdu Open is a professional tennis tournament held in the city of Chengdu in China.

Up until 2016, the tournament was held in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur where it was known as the ATP Malaysian Open.

Held at the Sichuan International Tennis Center, matches at the Chengdu Open are played on outdoor hard courts.

As a relatively new tournament and a 250 Series ranked event, many of the world’s top 10 players don’t partake but the event is still able to attract a number of top 50 ranked players and a good mix of local talent and up and coming players. Karen Khachanov, the Russian youngster, picked up the first ever trophy at the event in 2016 after it’s relocation from Malaysia.
